New iPhone Setup Instructions
Please remember that SMRS owns the device and can access your company phone data at any time. Phone use may be tracked and monitored.
If you are an Android user and this is your first Apple device:
If you are an existing Apple user:
- It is highly recommended to create a new AppleID to keep personal and work content separate
- Outlook is optional, however it integrates with other Microsoft products such as Calendar and has additional advanced productivity features over the standard Mail app
Tools/Info Needed:
Old phone
Phone number
Old phone lock screen PIN
SMRS email and password
New SMRS iPhone
WiFi access
Pen and paper
Duo authentication code
Setup Instructions
- Proceed through setup and connect to WiFi for faster download speeds
- Create a new Apple Account using your work email
- Write down the password on a piece of paper or even better, store it on a password manager
- Set your iPhone lock code and write that down too
- Download the following apps from the app store
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Teams
- Duo Authenticator by Cisco
- Set up Outlook
- Open Outlook
- Select Add Account
- Enter your SMRS email and password
- Enter your Duo authentication code
- Set up Teams
- Open Teams
- Sign in using your SMRS email and password
- Set up Duo
- Create an IT helpdesk ticket requesting Duo access
- Set up Voicemail
- Open the Phone app
- Tap the bottom right Voicemail tab
- Click setup
- Record greeting (optional)
